Volunteer Information

The Osterville Historical Society and Museum is a three building complex that operates with a part-time Director, part-time Curator, Board of Directors and volunteers. As you can imagine, there is always a need for volunteers!  Come and share your time and talents in away that works for your schedule.  It’s a great way to meet new friends and to learn more about history.

bulletSeasonal museum greeters for the Boat Shops, and the Captain Parker and Cammett Houses:  Training is provided for each building, and a self-guided tour booklet is available to visitors.

bulletCollection Management:  Help document the museum’s collection of photos, research papers, and objects.  Training would be provided.

bulletSpecial Events:  Each of our special events, such as the Antique Show, calls for a large number of volunteers to help with various tasks.  Like to park cars, serve punch and cookies, or arrange flowers?

bulletOffice Assistance:  Help is needed with data entry, mailings, and basic office work.

bulletBuilding and Grounds:  Painting/refreshing rooms, general clean-up such as cleaning the Boat Shop’s many tools, or spring mulching.
